Powerbrake completes successful season in South African road racing.

Sahara Production Car Race Series

Congratulations go out to privateer team, SAM Racing, who campaigned two MINI Cooper S race cars during the 2005 Sahara Production Car Championship season. Craig Nicholson's SABAT sponsored MINI was fitted with Powerbrake Die Hard Series brake discs throughout the season after back to back testing, late in 2004, showed substantial advantages in brake performance and durability over the previous brand of discs that was being used.

"Powerbrake's Die Hard series discs have continued to impress throughout the 2005 season. The discs offer strong, fade free braking lap after lap. Brake characteristics remain consistent and predictable throughout a race with none of the drop-off in brake performance that we used to get towards the end of a heat. The durability of the Powerbrake discs has been amazing, with us getting at least four times more life out of a set of discs than we used to." - Craig Nicholson (3rd place - Class T Championship - 2005).

Craig's team mate, Martin Steyn (sponsored by Bosal, GP Windscreens and Palm), went on to win the T-Class Championship, racing on a used set of Powerbrake Die Hard discs that had already seen hard race use on Craig's car. Martin used this single set of Powerbrake discs for half the season, ultimately winning the Class T Championship. He reported substantial improvements in brake performance and durability over the previous discs used by the team.

"I switched to the Powerbrake Die Hard discs halfway through the season. The performance was excellent. Great stopping power and no fade. What really impressed me was the mileage we got from them. I used one set of front discs for 5 race weekends, this is amazing when you consider we were just doing one race weekend on the previous discs before having to replace them." - Martin Steyn (Class T Champion - 2005).

The SAM Racing team achieved the following results while racing on Powerbrake Die Hard brake discs in 2005:

SuperHatch Race Series

The GMS Racing Team (consisting of father and son - Gary and Mark Silverwood) switched to Powerbrake Die Hard series discs early in the 2005 season and reported an immediate improvement in brake performance. The team ran two VW Golf's in the popular and competitive SuperHatch race series, scoring an impressive 26 wins. Team manager and winner of the 2005 SuperHatch championship had the following to say:

"Each of our cars ran the entire season on a single set of Powerbrake Die Hard series rotors. Each with minimal wear and no drop in brake performance at all throughout the season. We will be using the Powerbrake Die Hard discs next year for sure". - Gary Silverwood (SuperHatch Champion - 2005).
