We do not design our kits to fit within a specific price bracket or because some focus group said there was a market for a particular product variation. If you’re thinking that this business philosophy sounds expensive to implement, you’d be right, but we refuse to cut corners in order to meet a price point. We manufacture the best and charge what we need to for the end product. It’s an eccentric business philosophy, we admit. The standard brake systems on most vehicles are designed to work safely under ‘normal’ driving conditions anticipated by the manufacturer. When designing original equipment brake systems, vehicle manufacturers face the difficult task of balancing safety, comfort, noise levels and cost of manufacture in an attempt to satisfy the ‘average’ driver of the vehicle in question. Of course there is a niche segment of the motoring public that place ‘greater than average’ demands on their vehicle’s brake systems. Fast-road driving, involving braking from high speeds and/or heavy consecutive braking can place enormous strain on standard brake systems. Towing or heavy loading of vehicles can create similar problems. When it comes to performance braking there are a number of companies selling cosmetically enhanced brake products and ‘snake oil’. As a company Powerbrake has a strict policy of ‘form follows function’. We are dedicated to designing and manufacturing products that work! We take issue with companies that are willing to drill some holes in any aftermarket brake disc that they can lay their hands on or paint any caliper red and then call it a “high-performance or race brake product”. The fact that a brake disc has slots or holes machined into it or that a brake caliper is painted red, does not mean that it is a well engineered piece of equipment.

 

At Powerbrake™ we don’t believe in ‘dressing up’ our products or exaggerating their capabilities. We strive to provide our customers with sound advice and offer straightforward opinions based on our extensive research into automotive braking. In short, you can trust us to give you and honest opinion. If, after discussing your application, we feel that one of our kits/products will work for you, we will make the appropriate recommendation. On the other hand, if we do not believe that any of our products is suitable for your application, we will say so.
